The name, character by character

鹿 + 丸 = シカマル · Shikamaru

Deer and circle. The kanji that goes huge on the back is, literally, his name, not a Japanese ornament.

Colour board

Three colours. Nothing else.

The same codes as the original colour board. The black is the whole garment; the green appears only in the prints; the bone tone, in the label and the topstitch that draws the construction.

  1. High collar

    The collar is taken from his own, and it keeps that closed, tidy ninja read.

  2. False pockets

    The character wears a tactical vest, so I built two similar shapes into the tee to keep his essence. A functional, urban read.

  3. Chest: kanji and monogram

    One side carries the name in kanji with the capsule text beneath it; the other, the brand monogram. Same weight, same green.

  4. Sleeve patch

    A patch on the sleeve, drawn from the armband Shikamaru wears with his village uniform.

  5. The kanji on the back

    The character's kanji across the full width with the line beneath. The green details connect straight to his vest.

  6. All black

    I used the character's defining trait, his power to manipulate shadows, to keep the garment entirely black, making the ability visible.
